Right now I have a 1983 Suzuki GR650 Tempter. In July we rode from California to Michigan, and back. Suzy did great. But, I really want something bigger for cross country so I'm probably going to buy a Harley VRod in a month or too and save Suzy for putting around town. It's difficult to get parts for old rare bikes these days and the VRod has a good reputation for reliability as well as it is liquid cooled. I will definately post pictures. Last weekend I test rode a 2009 VRod Muscle and the guys that were hanging out at the dealorship did not believe I was going to ride it. Maybe it was the blonde hair or that I only weigh 135 lbs. I don't know which. But when I took off I ran up to 65 mph in first gear and 95 mph in second gear. It is an amazing ride. I don't like to go over 100. Some sort of mental block I guess considering I can get just as squished going 95. :o

I've been lusting for a Suzuki 1300 Hybusa for a while but I might get scared to ride it in fear that I might drop it on a gravel road. :D

Wow, that's a long ride on 650. I rode an '82 Suzi GS650E for about ten years. No way I'd have tried that trip, unless I had a lot of spare time to do it.

Yes, I have exceeded the posted speed limit! We took a month off for the trip. We averaged between 400-600 miles per day. It was an awesome experienced. We stopped in several places along the way. Due to all of the rains in the midwest at that time we decided to go straight north and then head east. We stopped in Las Vegas for 3-4 days and then went to Utah. After that we headed for The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone for a couple of days. Then east through Stugis and to the docks in Milwaukee to take a ferry across Lake Michigan. Then I went with my brother and sister to Arkansas for a family reunion for 4th of July weekend then back to Michigan for a week with my mom. After that we headed across the central route back to California. All together I took over 400 photographs and mostly from the bike. I learned how to take a picture left handed with the camera upside down while going 70mph. Fun stuff!
