If you had said those songs were done with a Tele, I would have believed it. Sounds very much like a tele with the treble rolled off a tad. Most importantly, it sounds completely appropriate to the music. Tell your drummer you won't tell him what kit to play it he won't tell you which guitar to play.

Everybody has a right to an opinion, but some people feel that everybody has a right to their opinion! Back in the early '70's, I was playing with a bass player who thought my Gibson Les Paul didn't sound fat enough (!) and told me that I should be playing a Gretsch (!!) or a Telecaster (!!!) instead. Seems he had played with a guitar player who used a Gretsch Viking that he liked the sound of, and he took me to hear another friend of his who got a nice jazz sound out of a Tele--and of course, I pointed out that the guy had a Gibson humbucking pickup in the neck position on his Tele! Some people hear with their eyes, rather than their ears--and I can get a passable jazz tone out of anything with a neck pickup and a tone control...I've got a video somewhere of me playing a G&L ASAT Z-3 with a jazz big band, and it sounds just fine. As the old song goes, "Don't you let nobody turn you 'round..."
