Re: Can I increase the sustain in My Mosrites???
I think amp settings have a lot to do with it. if you run the mid scoop high gain style setting that seems to suck a lot of sustain out of low output p'ups, plus comp. pedals and noise suppressors are tone/sustain robbers (unless you have some high dollar rack thing going on) i like to max the mids, and the bass and treble for that matter, let the amp have all the signal the guitar is sending. then adjust the gain. i think also that if you pair a vintage guitar with a vintage amp or vintage style amp that seems to work better than say.. running a vintage mosrite thru a mesa triple rec. they just speak different sonic languages ..just my thoughts hope it helps some

hey brutus,
thanks, that is a good point. unfortunately the sustain issue I've experienced has been true to every amp i've played it on, new or old.

Which is why I have always suggested, that the ACTUAL signal starts from the guitar,
whether it be the Pick-ups, or the Frets, or both. It FIRST, has to come from the 'Source.'
And then what Brutus had posted, is the Amp. And EVEN then, it will depend upon
what you set your 'personal' EQ settings on your Amp

make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

since I'm a RAMONES fan, through and through, I use the same amp settings as Johnny Ramone. Everything on 10!!!!
