Does anyone see anything that does not look original with this MK I? I'm waiting on the serial # and a photo of the front of the body. Thanks.

Looks like a nice condition all original '66, with two line Kluson tuners to me. What's the story on it?

Jack,
Ditto on what Danny said, she looks like a sweet looking piece.
The price must be right to grab your attention. She looks all
original to me, Does she have the original case?

Re: Ventures MK I Sunburst Help
To make a long story short, a friend of mine's brother has a MK V that he bought new. I let my friend borrow my MK I and he fell in love with it, but was not willing to ask his wife if he could buy one. So I sent her an email about how it would increase in value, etc. She said go for it, so I'm looking for one.
Supposedly it has the original case but I'm going to ask for a photo. It's priced right at $3k. If he doesn't want it, I'll let you know. I'm not sure my wife would let me buy 2 in one month. Thanks for the help.
Did the '66 models have a TRC?

$3K sounds like a great deal if everything is original including case.
Tell your wife this is better than 401K (mine has shrunk to 301K now). Good luck!
BTW, did you get to try that silverburst Mark V? (It is no longer available at my local shop, so it must be sold)

No, I didn't get to try it. The person that bought it lives in Asheville, N.C., but he hasn't offered it to me. I bought my MK I from him. I haven't heard a MK V with the original pickups. My friend's brother put different ones in his, and kept the originals.

My friend isn't buying it and neither am I. It's at the Twin Cities Guitar Center. It has the original case. The outside is rough but the inside is in good condition. It's on clearance which is why the price is $3k. I'd love to get it but I'm not buying anything until I do my tax returns.

Twin Cities Guitar Center
Looks like they have two of these.
One has a broken vibrato arm and replaced knobs. The other shows chicken head knobs but says it's all original.
