Hello.
My name is Stefaan and i have always been a Ramones fan. I was lucky to see them a couple of times. That's when i discovered the Mosrite brand. I got a Filmore Johnny Ramone guitar but i never had the chance to hold a vintage Ventures I model, nor a M88, gospel, blues bender... I like the design and the details, but i will probably never own one because of the high prices and the fear to pay big money for a fake without knowing it's actually a fake.
Since only a year or so i started to learn about woodworking and building electric guitars. A year ago, i,knew really nothing about wood.
I can watch videos for hours on how to build guitars. The first experiment was a cigar box guitar and then i slowly moved on. This summer, i started to build a Ventures inspired guitar. Things are going fine so far. It's a bit weird to work on a guitar, based on a model i've never seen in real life.
This forum has been a real inspiration and really helpful to find answers, tips and tricks.
Thank you for sharing all this information.
I'll try to post some pics of the project in the future and when the guitar is finished.
Maybe, my next guitar will be based on the blues bender/ brass rail. It would be great to build a guitar with a brass rail in the neck. But i'm not sure yet how to do this.... First things first. Get my Ventures style guitar finished.
Regards,
Stefaan

The gangster looks so frightening, with his luger in his hand
When he gets home to his children, he's a family man
But when it comes to the nitty-gritty, he can shove in his knife
Yes he really looks quite religious, he's been an outlaw all his life

Re: Greetings
Thank you very much everybody for the welcome.
Ed, i recentrly bought a set of your pickups from a guy in Europe, who had them for sale for a couple of months. I'm sure those are the right pickups for the project.
I don't have much pictures of the building proces. When the guitar is finished i'll post some pics with a little story about the building proces.
Regards
