Une Mosrite, sinon rien.

Postby reverserite » Sun Mar 09, 2014 4:44 pm

Hello All,

Une Mosrite, sinon rien. Tout est dit...
A Mosrite, otherwise nothing. All is said...

Do you have a Mosrite ?
No - At least : not yet...

Which one would you like ?
Oh... A MKI Ventures Model with the Vibramute Tremolo !

Well, go ahead and buy one !
Not so easy : I am a LEFTY player...

:x :o :x  :x :o :x

I expect my 10th guitar to be a Mosrite MKI Ventures Model... Left-handed, of course...
I already had Gretsch, Fender, Gibson, Squier, Hagstrom, Rickenbacker... I miss a Mosrite for my last one !

Will I find one :?: :?: :?:

Cheers !

Hallmark made a few lefty 60 Customs, that may be as close as you'll get.

Thanks FritzCat,

I contacted Jerry : yes, he has some Lefty Hallmark Custom 60.

I am getting in contact with other sellers and/or luthiers (USA, Europe, Japan).

I must confess that the 1"9/16 original Mosrite nut width makes me afraid...

Wait and See...

According to Hallmark the nut width is 1 5/8", a little wider than the originals but enough wider to make a noticeable difference.

If you're considering replicas, I'd highly recommend you check out Gun Guitars in Haarlem:

http://www.guncustoms.nl/

He's made several lefty Mosrite replicas, and he's on your side of the pond. Here's a thread about one of his builds:

Oy vey - it's MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY - The world's premier Jewish Surf Music Band!

Yes FritzCat, I noticed it. 1"5/8 = 41.27mm : that's a good point...

Yes MWaldorf, I am in contact with Eugen Wulff / Gun Guitars. He can make me a complete Mosrite MKI replica with Vibramute Tremolo in Left-Hand version. Moreover, the nut width is standard : 43mm (1"11/16).

I also contacted Mosrite Guitars USA and some Japanese dealers also.

Wait and See,

Thanks for your input,

Welcome!!

Yes Jerry's Lefties does have stock of Hallmark lefty 60 Customs at this time. Even in Plum Krazy! Elliott Easton is getting a Orange Crate 60 Custom too! They come with a swank Hallmark brown alligator case with red velvet lining and gold hardware as well.

All the best,

Bob Shade
