take a diapason (in french it is a fork tuner the thing you hurt and give you the A note)
hit the diapason and go all over the wood ,if there is crack you will heard it cause the sound change or the sound disapear

I have never heard of this technique Ludobag. Sounds cool though. Sort of like Sonar for the Guitar... well maybe not. The Crack is pretty Deep from what I can tell. Probably wont go away after Shaping. I think I will use a Veneer.

It looks like it could have been filled a bit more, however you still need to do alot of sanding so hopefully you will sand below the lowest point. You can still add more now before sanding if you want to fill it up first. One thing for sure, it is never coming apart.

Best, Bob

Yes, I filled the crack again right after Posting for good measure. Seems filled all the way now. Can probably fend off several attackers with it now, worry free. This is one tough bludgeoning apparatus.

Thanks for the pics added to the topic, I laughed. I don't have much to add here except to say welcome to the world of building guitars, Though I'm not sure how long you've been into it.

Thanks 101V. This is my first build. Though I have modified my Jazzmaster to varying degrees of success. I have built several Guitar Pedals from Guitar PCB. And have taken Electronics for Mechanics at my local community College. With these meager skills I figured I should try my hand at building a Guitar I have never seen seen in real life and probably could not afford. I suck at playing guitar. Hopefully building this guitar will make me closer to the instrument and more willing to practice with it more than I currently do. Plus the trem on my Squier VM Stratocaster is just awful! I needed an axe with a better tremolo system.
