Looking good ! I see it's the blue nail varnish then
to go with the guitar .. I hope not too many bugs and hopefully no polishing through to the silver when you come to do the finishing touches.. How many coats ?

normally i put 3 coat of varnish
first one to have a little thickness to just sand to make the other coat of varnish grip on it
the second that i sand more to have something really flat , avoiding the angle too to not sand tru
and the third this one will be sand up to 1500 of 2000 grit and after polish
