caving out the pickup holes

since the top on this thing started to really look nice i decided to make this thing with out having a pickguard on top. i figured why cover up all that nice looking wood. so i went with making the controls rear mounted.

idea i had for the rear controls before i drilled out the holes. by the way, the placement of the holes i choose was from a template i made from one of my V2 model pickguard.

and here's the idea I used. i figured since it has a gibson flavor to the design, i might as well continue with that theme.

after i carved the binding channel. i went with a one ply piece of binding like les pauls.

began shaping the body. at first i just used a chisel and a heavy duty wood file.
