Great post Mel! Can't believe I'm seeing good ol' fashioned fries on pizza in Italy. I used to own a pizzeria for about 13 years and I did get some strange requests, the very first being fries and sliced tomatoes on extra, extra thin crust. He remained a customer til I sold the place. I tried it once and hated it. So, 2 sinful things for you in Italy, fries on your pizza and pork, looks like lots of it too! Of the 2, the fries are more sinful, imo. As for the grappa, my mother in law gives it to me to gargle with when colds/sinus infections are coming on, not the pricey grappa either, the bootleg kind. I feel like I can spit fire when I use it. I say grappa tastes like crappa.
