Introduction from Dave in Wenatchee
Hi my name is Dave from Wenatchee, WA. I started playing and collecting guitars 1 year ago. I had played in a little rock band back in the 60s when I was in Junior High and then High School, but I hadn't played since until a year ago. I currently have 9 guitars but my collection is not complete as I don't have a Mosrite. I grew up listening to surf music and particularly The Ventures. I'm now ready to buy my dream guitar but I need help. There are so many knock offs and I want to make sure my purchase is worthwhile. Do I buy a vintage 60s guitar or go for a new one from Dana Moseley or get a Japanese reproduction. Please help. I also want to be able to talk to others interested in Mosrites and surf music. I'm glad to be part of the forum and look forward to talking. Thanks Dave

Welcome Dave! There are a number of options for you to consider on the Mosrite front, depending on your budget and your tastes.
Oy vey - it's MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY - The world's premier Jewish Surf Music Band!

Hi Dave, you should feel right at home here, welcome.
In 2009 the Mosrirte bug bit me with a vengeance and I quickly realized the challenge involved in getting "one of those guitars pictured on the rear covers on Ventures LP's from the mid sixties". Shops 'round the corner just don't have 'em
I ended up with a Hallmark 60 Custom and a Mosrite made in Japan ("Kurokumo Super Excellent") -both sunburst

If you can afford it, A Dana Mosrite could be well worth your while.
Good to hear you took up playing again, it's so much fun.

Hi Dave - I'm from Seattle, also new to the forum, and also a Mosrite fan - I own three. If you're on the look out to buy one you can first try out, a few places to check out in WA are 1) Boogie Man Music in Ellensburg - I bought a Mosrite there about 12 years ago. Not sure how often they come in, but a great shop. 2) Tommy's Guitars in Everett - They have a few in stock right now. 3) Emerald City Guitars - Great source for vintage in Seattle 4) Guitar Maniacs in Tacoma - My brother bought a Mosrite there.
Best to you,
