Hi Everyone -
I'm new here.
I recently got ~very~ lucky and bought my first Mosrite. At first I wasn't exactly sure what it was, but it's now been verified.
It's a '63 Side Jack, set neck, bound body.
So I'm pretty excited about this find. Also a little suprised to hear some of the values that I've been quoted.
Anybody else here on the list have one of these?
Thanks!
Riv

Hi Riv,
Welcome to the forum. Congrats on you new '63.
Yes there are several members of the forum that have '63 sidejacks, originals and reproductions. Have a look around the various forums, there is information and photo's all over the place. If you can, go to the forum (Vintage or Modern) that applies to your '63 and post some photo's. We'd love to see it.

Re: Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the welcome guys!
To answer your questions, it is an original '63, not a reissue. I keep reading how rare they are. It's all original, but it's not perfect. Also, the tremolo bar is missing. Original pickups, pots, knobs, etc.
I'd be happy to post a few pictures one of these days. I just need to get some time and find the camera.
To be honest, once I found out how rare it was, I thought about putting it up for sale. (I've always wanted a Mosrite, but I cerainly wouldn't have paid enough to buy one this rare)
Anyone know offhand what the going rate on these seems to be? I found the online SN registry and it looks like a bunch of the side jack 63's are owned by the same few collectors, so it's hard to tell the value. (for insurance if for no other reason...)
Thanks!
Riv

Re: Hi Everyone!
Welcome Riv,
Congrats on your Mosrite find! Rare bird indeed. If you want to keep it, it's worth spending the extra bucks on a little restoration work. Mosriteforever, a member of this forum, could point you in the right direction if you wanted to do that.

Welcome to the Community Riv. For some reason or another, my first posting got lost
So, where are you from? Did you see the "Location Area" when you were signing up?
You are going to see lots of stuff on here that you probably never knew existed
