Hi, I'm JohnM from the NJ Shore. I've known about Mosrites since the mid-60s, since I was (and still am) a fan of The Ventures.
I've only been playing guitar for a couple of years ...currently have a Tele, but hope to eventually buy a Hallmark 60 Custom.
Little story: My 30-year old son has been playing since grammer school. Back then, we visited a local guitar shop to look for his first guitar. Didn't buy anything that day, but the owner had a beautiful sunburst Ventures-model Mosrite for sale. He was asked $1000 for it, which was out of our league at the time. (I know, I know, should have second-mortgaged the house.) It was a thrill for me just to hold it, since it was the first one I had ever seen close-up.
Anyway, glad to be a member of this forum. I enjoy reading the threads.

I can understand the thrill you're talking about holding a Mosrite for the first time, John, especially being a Ventures fan (that helps

My first (and very belated) thrill was holding the Mosrite shape for the very first time in 2009 in the form of a thrilling and beautiful Hallmark 60 Custom. Last year I snagged a Kurokumo Mosrite ('California in Japan'... LOL) complimenting my first 'Mosrite thrill'

Welcome, John, nice to have you.

Welcome to the forum, John! You're not too far from my neck of the woods.
This forum is the best for all things Mosrite, Hallmark, Ventures and the interesting stuff in between.
