Hey guys thank you so much for all the warm replies I really appreciate it.

Hi! Welcome to the forum.

I'm an amateur builder, and continually "farm" this website for tips on the why's and how's of building guitars... That said, I noticed an interesting tilt on the bridge in your first photo... Is this some secret way to make a string sound better...or?

I must also comment on the artistic touch you have added to these guitars...very nice!!!

As for the bridge tilt on that one, it was carelessness on my part when installing it, you may have also noticed the tuners are not all aligned quite right.
It's a side affect of being 18, in school and in a hurry lol.

At the time (2003) in which I was in school, I wanted to do as much as I could in the year that I was there.
Looking back it's amazing that I didn't mess up anything more then I did, I designed and built 10 basses and did countless repairs that year.

Fortunately I've grown a little more patient since then. It's funny the effect that money has on ones patience, I work on a lot of customers guitars now and as I'm sure some of you are aware mistakes can cost big so I tend to be a bit more methodical in my work these days.
It also doesn't hurt that good work shows and it brings me a lot of work through word of mouth.

Ah yes, the hectic days of youth...I remember them, but not so well anymore!

I agree about money bringing on a more measured pace, it seems that at 65, some summer days I have time to burn, and building guitars fills the days very happily, and productively. Here's a link to some of my projects... Winter's a whole 'nuther story; I go south to Yuma and spend the winter "jammin" with all my buddies, so no time to spare for building.

I was just looking at your projects, and noticed the second two are Fretless!

Having played both fretted and fretless bass (however mostly guitar these days) I can appreciate how nice your instruments look.

Did you make the pick guard on the last one?

Anyway, enjoy the forum. Not surprised you caught the Mosrite bug like the rest of us!

Yes I did make that guard.

I had originally planed on a white one and had the bass finished but still hadn't got the pickguard material, so looking around my shop I found that piece of pine and it worked great!
