Hey Veenture (Paul) - Here's a "small world" story for you. I just read in another forum area that you purchased a Mosrite Excellent on eBay from a guy in California. Am I reading that right?
If so, I came close to buying that exact guitar. I contacted the seller in hopes of driving over to take a look at it (about 20 minutes away) and I was too late! You beat me to it, so if you're wondering at all if you did the right thing by jumping on the "buy it now" option, you did! If it had still been for sale when I gave it a try it would most likely be hanging on my wall as we speak.
Glad to know it found a good home. Mosrites seldom pop up used in that price range, so congratulations on finding a good deal.

Re: Just Arrived
LOL, "small world" indeed, Rob! ...but then to be expected among Mosriteers, no?
Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, I'm the lucky owner who pushed the 'Buy It Now' button! At that asking price I didn't feel like haggeling over a couple of hundred bucks, at the time (Mosrite fever hadn't subsided altogether, even after getting my H60C ...and...money just comes and goes anyway, I reasoned, ha, ha).
I'm very happy with my Kurokumo and I assure you, it won't ever get displayed on my wall (just kidding) -matter of fact, I took her out for an outing today to band practice for our little 'Ventures set' which I've added to the band's main course of Shadows tunes... (Shadows are more popular in Europe than the Ventures -but I'm a big Ventures fan, so there ya go)!

)
Think of it this way; let it be a consolation to you that a fellow forum member got it
Anyways, your Hallmark is going to keep you very happy for now and who knows, one day you'll yet pull the trigger on a Mo'

Re: Just Arrived
Paul, I just checked out your YTube version of "Mr. Moto". That is such a fun song to play. I've had the good luck to have been able to see the writer of that song, Paul Johnson play it in person a couple of times.
You are right about The Shadows having been more popular in Europe and that's a shame. I have to admit to not having discovered them until shortly after their "Final Tour" DVD came out. Now I am also a loyal Shadows fan. Like so many of us who love that type of playing, Hank and Bruce have become new heros of mine. I have played that DVD to the point of almost wearing it out. We do several Shadows tunes in my band and I'd like to do even more.
Back to the Hallmark 60 - I'll be posting some photos soon (probably in the "Hallmark Owners" forum) along with a question or two. I played it for the first time at a gig last week and had an minor issue that I'm sure has an easy fix, (I hope) but I'll get into that later.
Take good care of that Kuro - it's a long way from home and is probably homesick until it gets used to it's new surroundings.
