Re: Alden Ventua Guitar
A friend just brought me a Chinese-made guitar (that actually looked reasonably nice) to have a tuner fixed. I managed to patch up the tuner, restrung the guitar, and tuned it up. Under tension the action was more akin to something used for archery (no truss-rod), every chord sounded out of tune, and the fret ends took skin off my fingers. The fretwork was badly done, with numerous gouges out of the fretboard etc.
Upon further investigation, I found that it had fret spacing for a 25.5", and the bridge had been placed at 24"... The rest of the guitar wasn't worth what it would cost to do the repair. In most cases in guitar land, the price does have a bearing on the quality of the instrument. Aside from the occasional garage or estate sale that coughs up a gem for a bargain price, a low price is usually too good to be true.

Panther, Not meaning to sound sarcastic in my original post, but I was referring to all the different Badges (name brands) whichDennisthe Menace wrote:UNFORTUNATELY, IT'S A COPY of a Copy of a copy of a copy
were usually manufactured by the Aria Company. You would see such Badges under the Univox, Pan, and more recently ones like
the Eastwood brand, etc........
