Hello from Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Postby CFguitars » Sun Feb 13, 2011 3:26 pm

Hello,
My name is Richard. I know dubtrub and a few others from different forums. I'm addicted to guitars of all shapes, styles and models. I've been spending a lot of time recently trying to hone my skills at making guitar bodies and necks so I find build threads extremely interesting. I'm mostly a Fender guy but I've always loved The Ventures and their cool Mosrites. Then when Johnny Ramone came along with his chainsaw strumming and low hung white Mosrite I knew I wanted to own one some day.
I used to run a little garage punk record label but that kinda folded when the economy took a dive. I play in a garage punk band called Cooterfinger.
My wife and I have two little ones running around the house. Both are loud, unruly and don't pay rent so they are pretty much like every drummer I've ever been in a band with. No offense to any drummers out there. I was a drummer in a few bands myself. Just speaking from my own experiences here.
Anyway, that's pretty much me in a nutshell. I'm here to soak up all I can and hopefully contribute on occasion.

Hi Richard....welcome to the forum! I always admire you guys that can build guitars, and turn them into fine musical instruments......I only play and listen, and lots of great threads here to learn from.

Welcome Richard...any plans to build your own Mosrite-style axe? :)

Thanks guys,
Yes, I would like to attempt a Mosrite build one day. I've made quite a few guitar bodies but I've only made two necks so I would like to get a bit more comfortable with that first. It's definitely on the list though.

Welcome Richard, and I apologize for not leaving your quote alone, but whenever
I come across a new drummer joke, I just have to use it  .................... ;) .
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.
