Mosrite bass truss rod question

If all goes well I'll be building a Mosrite style bass for a buddy of mine in a local punk band. I'm going to be starting on the neck first and I was wondering how long a Mosrite truss rod was or if it can be pulled out like on the heel adjustable necks?
