Hi guys,
I have had a pearl white Fillmore 'Mark I for several years and just got a candy apple USA model after contributing a track to the new Mosrite tribute album called "Rebirth". The two seem virtually identical, and both are incredibly good guitars. Are the parts made in Japan and assembled in the USA or is this a fully 'made in USA' guitar. Throw in Ed Roman's shop and I'm completely confused as to these guitars origins! I don't see any threads about these so I figured I'd start one. I'll post photos soon.

I'm sure others will be along to "straighten" out the story. It's a tangled web, to be sure. We would love to see photos of your gear!

Re: Tell me about my new USA Mosrite
The current USA models are Fillmore parts, assembled (to a degree) in Bakersfield, CA by Dana Moseley. Dana also hand winds the pick-ups and completes the final set-up. I don't think Ed Roman has any of these.
All of us here look forward to the "Rebirth" project, and I also very much enjoy the Tiki Gods, where the sounds of the Mosrite are a natural fit.

Thanks Strat,
The Rebirth album sounds great! Some of the tracks will really blow folks away. Brent Mason on a Mosrite is really something to hear!

Hey Elliot,
I did a little digging. It may be the "Original" that bears the Dana pickups, but I believe a lot of this has to do with when the guitar/parts arrived from Japan. Maybe Artie from Front Porch will chime in...
Brent Mason on a Mosrite...I wonder how he liked the narrow neck... (a frequent "adjustment" factor on the part of the player).

I doesn't seem to matter at all. Wait'll you hear his version of "Caravan"-wow!

Hey Elliot, do you ever look in the mirror when playing just to see what it looks like to play right handed? Simple minds want to know.
Anyway, welcome to the forum. I remember talking to Loretta Mosely several years back and she told me yours was one of the few left handed Mosrites ever made. Does your guitar have Semies signature on the back of the headstock?
And yes, we are all looking forward to a Cars reunion.
Rocco

Re: Tell me about my new USA Mosrite
Semie hand made me two. I no longer own either, unfortunately. One was a blue one on which he made a custom designed "ee" logo where the ventures logo would be. the other was a red triple pickup bound sidejack. he also made a 5 string bass for ben and another plashy red mark for ric.
