On impulse bought this hollowbody

Postby Bigwave » Mon Nov 15, 2010 7:31 pm

Well I was following a Mosrite Celebrity auction over the weekend, since deciding to add a hollowbody, but I ended up buying this wild looking hollowbody, after the Celebrity auction closed. Had a zero fret, like a mosrite, so on impulse I bought it. 1968 Greco Shrike. Sure looks cool, but sure hope it sounds good as well. Should arrive next week :D

Anyone know anything about them?? Not much on the internet about this guitar other than a catalog page listing the guitar in 1968 at $149.50 and saying it had that unique Fabulous "SHRIKE" sound.

Nice! And congrats ... Those p'ups DO look interesting. Wonder if there are 2 under each cover? Looks to be in great condition. Nice score.

Very cool...the horns look a bit 'Rickenbackerish' to me (nice!) and those outrageously unique pickup shapes must be the closest so far to horseshoe magnet pickups which, so far, I've never seen on a guitar... either
Congrats and have lots of fun with it when it arrives.
