Hallmark trem arm adjustment?

Postby beenawhile » Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:48 pm

I had the opportunity to test drive Hallmark 60s last week. Nice guitar with a great trem, but for one thing - I had a hard time swinging the trem arm out of the way when I wasn't using it. Maybe I am too used to my Fender arms as they travel very easily. I am wondering it that joint can be loosened or lubed with any success?

Cheers!

Remove the spring, there's a nut under the arm that can be tightened or loosened for player preference. Also somewhere on this sight there is a discussion about adding a nylon or leather washer to make it smoother moving yet firm.

Thanks - good to know that it can be adjusted and replaced if needed. Seem simple enough.

I had Bob install a leather washer on my 60 Custom when I ordered it. It's been fine--no loosening up, the arm stays put when I take my hand off of it, and it still pushes out of the way easily enough.

Good tip there, thanks! I'll bring it up with Mr. Shade if/when I get the far.
