Greetings from South Wales

Postby lamf37 » Mon Sep 20, 2010 9:17 am

Hi all,
I am the proud new owner of a Mosrite Classic IV, this is the first Mosrite I've owned.
It's a Japanese model Mosrite of Classics, Sunburst with stop bar tailpiece.
I have been obsessed with owning a Mosrite since owning a 1974 anniversary Les Paul
Custom with Fretless Wonder frets. I felt completely unworthy of owning a guitar like it
and subsequently sold it in a drunken haze last year, since then I have been on a quest to find
a guitar that plays as well as it. My search led me to Mosrites, having searched the internet
for any instrument that carried similar frets...I play in a punk covers band doing stuff from
the late 70's like the Pistols,Clash,Damned,the Jam,Dead Kennedys,The Ruts,the Ramones,
Stooges etc etc, my needs are simple, all I wanted was a fast neck with tiny frets that
I could move my hands over the fingerboard fast enough without any snagging on tall fat frets.
That's it in a nutshell...My Guitar was the only Mosrite that I could find locally, they are
as rare as hen's teeth in the UK.
I'll be around for a while, no doubt adding to my collection and bugging everyone for info
on the guitar itself...In fact, can anyone recommend a case for it as it didn't come with one?
Cheers Rich

Thanks guys, as for a case from hallmark, I was hoping to pick up something closer to home in the UK or at least Europe, where I won't get hit with import charges.
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum mate ! Dead right that Mosrites are rare over in the UK ... as for the right sized case I've been looking for one also .. but the gig bag I got with mine is fine so far.
Have a good time on the forums bud , and don't forget to stop by Sarah's Diner :-)

Cases are just as rare, if not rarer I would imagine. Import duties on a Hallmark crocodile case @ $120 shouldn't be that high though... :? Ask Bob Shade* if he still stocks them, they're really cool.
