Richard,
I just joined the forum too and I live in Roswell. What is the name of your band, do you have a web-site, Were are you playing. I don't think I've ever seen an ad for "surf" music anywhere in Atlanta, I'd love to hear you.

As far as the Hallmark pick-ups go, I did not even realize the the company existed before a year ago, so I can't comment on what pick-ups they were using before that. However, the ones that came in my 60C, recieved last summer, are the best that I have ever played (IMHO), These things dominate any amp that you plug them into and are so incredibly articulate that in many cases I have gone from lead to rythem tones just by shifting my pick attack. If you are looking for more of a traditional Mosrite tone (and output) you might listen to what some of the other folks are saying.

Hey Larry, I live in Covington and play in two surf bands in Atlanta. Oh yeah, we're out there. One, a more traditional band, is called The Surge! and we help put on a surf music festival in Clarkston every year for the last four. This year we are pushing it into fall (probably October) but we had a billboard last year for the event and had a big turnout (it's free). My other band is called The Mystery Men? and it's got a bit different bent to it, but still very much surf. I play rhythm/2nd guitar in both bands. Both will be playing Surf Fest this year, so you should keep an eye out. Bring the kids, dogs, etc. http://www.clarkstonsurffest.com/

There are several other surf bands in area, some on inactive status.
