Info & Specs for building a Mosrite clone

Hi Experts!
Does anyone know if the Mosrite bass pickups have the same "dementions" and construction as the guitar pickups?
(except for the number of polepieces ofcourse)And what the resisance originally was? Seymour duncan site says 8.5k.

Yes! BTW, has the drawings arrived yet? I no longer have the blue one I built so I can't measure the resistance of the Elliott pup's. 8.5K sounds about right. Later I'll measure the ones on my 72 bass.

No the drawings are not here yet. I'm fooling around with some plastics to make pupcovers

Now I have to figure out a way to make the rings as wel in a simple cost-effective way.

That looks pretty cool! Did you do them in the oven like Uncle Semie?

I used a paintstrippergun. My molds are still a little off specs so I get some wrinkles, but I will work that out.
Its amazing how shiny the plastic stays.

Well, I was wrong on that reisitance measurement. My 72 Mosrite dual pickup bass registers 11.48 Ohms on the bidge pup and 10.76 on the neck.

Oi, would you mind starting a new thread and photo essay your process of making the pickup cover? That would be an interesting topic. I think the rings made for the Hallmark pup's are routed out of 1/4 inch sheet hard plastic material Delrin. The covers on my '66 Mosrite looks to be injection molded plastic and on my '64 it appears to be a liquid casting resin poured into a mold.

I will start a new thread on de covers. I'm still figuring out the ins&outs.
Is there more info& pics about the bobbins and further construction?
I figured that is in essence a p90 but with a maple core and alnicoV magnets.
Now the lefty is done I want to build one from scratch (except for the tuners) a righthanded version that I can actually play myself
But first a lefty bass.(it seems that it is difficult for lefthanded players to get a decent instrument)
Is there also more info about the construction of the strawberry alarmclock models?

They are made basically like the Carvin pup's in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1640

Also, check out some of Raygun's threads. He posted some photo's of his pickups under construction. The bobin is made the same as on the original Mosrite handmade pups.
