Thanks Paul...looks like and easy fix.
I'll try it out this weekend.

Hey, would you guys think I was completely nuts if I said that I thought the Surf Pearl 60C would look better with a tortoiseshell pickguard?

After an afternoon of consideration, I would have to say that "completely nuts" is not justified in this particular case.
Just plain "nuts" seems a better adjective until I learn a few of your other habits.
Now, if you take your guitar into the living room and play along with "Dancing with the Stars" then we are getting closer to my personal definition of "completely nuts".
Seriously now, back to your question. I like the guard that's on it.

Note to Dubtrub; Wouldn't it be an interesting thread to discuss what we all consider "Completely Nuts" and how close CookieMan gets to it.?

I don't know...I think it might look kind of cool, but it would have to be brown tortoiseshell rather than the redder variety. I still prefer the white pickguard on the Surf Pearl.

Thanks for the vote of confidence there, LostVenture. A diagnosis of "partially nuts" is OK by me. ;)

Maybe I'm operating on a different set of aesthetic criteria than the average guy. Maybe I'm just too pro-tortoiseshell - who says it can only go with white/cream?

Oh, and I'm definitely NOT jammin' along to "Dancing with the Stars"! More like "Come Dancing with the Kinks"!

I'm sorry if I offended you CookieMan, that was not my intention. You are, I'm sure, as sane as anybody posting here. Maybe more than some.
Now as far as the pickguard choice is concerned, the reason that there are so many aftermarket suppliers is to give us all exactly what we want. And, how we want our guitars to look is as personal as any other aspect of our lives. That's got to be the reason that Fender has 40 different varieties of Telecasters for sale. So if you like the tortiseshell guard, I'm sure that Hallmark can meet your needs. If that is how you go, a couple of photos could be interesting.

I don't think it would look too bad. If you want a pickguard like that I can make it for you.

I know it isn't perfect as my PhotoShop skills are not that great, but at least it will give you an idea.

I wouldn't knock your PhotoShop skills, Sarah. They beat the pants off of mine!

No, it doesn't look that bad (told ya so). Of course I'm not ready to pull the pin on another 60C yet - after acquiring my fire sparkle burst 3 months back, the Mrs. has asked that I let some of the GAS outta my tank. I guy can dream, though...

By the way, I take no offense to LostVentures posts. It's all just playful banter, isn't it?

Mr. Shade, Is there any possibility you could post a picture and maybe the price of that crushed white pearl guard?
Thanks,
Don

ps: It is still the hardest part of my day to put that sunburst C60 back in the case for the night.
