What else do you have?

Postby dubtrub » Mon May 05, 2008 3:38 pm

Now we all know this is a Mosrite forum, but in all fairness how many of us have other guitars?

I have to admit that my main guitars have always been ( and we be) Fenders. Actually other than my custom built guitars, I still prefer to play Fender Jazzmaster's and Stratocasters. Mosrite's have the best aesthetics and sound, but I never did care for the speed fretted neck. That's how I came about building my own. When I had my '66 I debated on refretting it but couldn't bring myself to defacing a Mosrite. So my other option was to clone the Mosrite and install standard frets. That served my purpose well except when I play different styles of music. For blues and jazz, I opt for the fender Strat. For surf music I'll use my Mosrite clones or Jazzmaster's.

So, what else do you play?

That's great. Also I like your Avatar, but shouldn't that ocean be sand?

I have a "Mojave Desert" Avatar but it was a little too big for your size limit. I will reduce it and use it in the future. Besides, I am still in Lake country, not in the desert yet..

I'm a new Mosrite owner, bought a beautiful Excellent sunburst a couple weeks ago. Now it's hard to play my other guitars! Which are a ocean turquoise jag, Gretsch 6120 DSV and 6120N. I may have to give up the DSV as I don't play it much. I suppose a Combo could one day take its place....

Welcome to the Mosrite club, FritzCat. Show us photo of your new baby sometime.

Yeah, you can still get vintage Mosrite Combo at reasonable price.
