New member with a Mosrite BG-1000 amp

Postby heavenbound1 » Fri May 07, 2010 1:44 pm

Hello. I am heavenbound1. I am a vintage guitar, mandolin and amp nut.Love the old stuff. I play a martin D-18V. My family travels in Evangelism... and I have written a few books... with another on the way.

I recently bought a 1969 Mosrite BG-1000 amp. It is all origina;l and even has the foot pedal. I was reading on here that there are or were only 19 ,made??? Do I have something rare and sought after here??

Welcome to the forum. Don't know much about Mosrite amps myself but there's some mention of the BG-1000 in the Ventures Book. Here's the link to the online version of it...you need to scroll down to page 151

Is yours in good working order and do you perhaps plan to put it to work... or just enjoy it as collector's piece?

Welcome to the forum. Is your BG-1000 cut down to just a head by any chance, or it is in the full cabinet with speakers?

Not sure how to list pictures on here. I play mainly acoustic guitar and mandolin. I want to see what this is worth and sell or get a good trade on a guitar.
It is not cut up... it is around 3 feet tall... all original... even has the foot switch. I plugged a guitar into it and it worked. It is in pretty good shape.
