Re: NGD! Birthday suprise
I'm very aquainted with the JB pickups as they are all I use for the bridge position. I have a JB JR in my MIJ Fender strat and a JB TB-4 full sized trembucker in my MIM strat. I love the sound of them.

The JB is perfect for punk rock. Here's a few pictures I took today.

Re: NGD! Birthday suprise
That's a good looking strat. Is that the body that you striped with the heat gun? While my wife went to the bank I had the chance to crank the Classic Vibe strat through the Marshall and let's just say I'm not replacing the bridge pickup anytime soon. It's not as powerful as a P-90 but has the same character and crunch.
I plan on recording a video with it and posting it soon

Hey Kevin,
From what I've read on the Telecaster forum, the Classic Vibe pups are made by the same plant in China that makers the Tonerider pickup. I've got a set of their hot pups in my MIM Tele and I love them. If you decide to replace them let me know I my be able to find a project to install them.

I've read the same thing on the Squier-talk forum that I belong to. The pickups that are in my strat right now I think are called the surfari pups. Like I said I cranked the marshall to 6 and the true sound came through. If I ever replace them I'll be sure to let you know but I might keep them if I ever want to swap them out again.

This is a little video that my wife made earlier. Couldn't realy concentrate on playing as I had my son running around me. But at least you have an idea of how the bridge pickup sounds at a low volume setting.
