Hi Guys
Found this great site while cruising the internet Last Week. Always have wanted a Mosrite Guitar, and I have just started playing again after having my two guitars in storage for 23 years at my mom's. I know thats just ain't right but lifes sometimes gets in the way (ie. away to College , military etc). Anyway I was only playing for a few years before the guitars went into storage, and I have just gotten the bug to play again after showing my 6 year old, Daddys old guitar. I always wanted a Mosrite, but could'nt find one for sale back then. Since I have to relearn how to play anyway, I might as well learn on the guitar I always wanted. I feel that old Guitar fever coming on that I had 25 years ago. I just purchased a Mosrite Ventures MKII on Ebay tonight. Hopefully I didn't get ripped. I should have joined this forum sooner to get advise about purchasing before buying a mosrite. I should be getting it in a week or so. I know its too late, but I'd be interested in any comments any forum member might have regarding my purchase. Heres the link to the guitar I bought.

I'm a Venture fan, so I'll probably be looking for a Ventures MK1 type guitar in the future. The Forum members seem to like the Hallmark 60 alot. After this purchase, it may be awhile I get up enough scratch for another guitar.
Regards

I like the combination Bigwave-Arizona
. Welcome to a fine forum, Dave.
Getting a real Mosrite can't be bad. I remember seeing it on eBay; very nice unusual finish. The tuners seem to have been replaced but original types can always be refitted again so that the vacant screw holes are once more in business. We'll be interested to know how she plays and sounds -and if it's to your liking

Thanks for the welcome!! Hey Veenture, I'm actually from the central valley of California, but just moved to Arizona last year due to a new job. Maybe I should have used a Wild west new nickname, since I'm now 15 min from Tombstone. Nah!! I been using the Bigwave username for years now. Can't wait to get the guitar. Talked to the seller last night about the guitar. Only selling to make rent. Otherwise he said I'd still be looking for a mosrite. Sad to hear, but still glad to finally have a Mosrite.

Congrats on the Mo, and welcome to the forum. What matters more than any of our opinions is if you feel you got a good deal. Looks to be in good shape, and as was mentioned, you can always go back to the Kluson tuners, if you want the more "vintage" look. Enjoy the Mosrite, and the forum, also. Lots of good info and folks around here.

Re: New Member on the forum - just bought my first Mosrite
Dave, the seller said that the case was an old Fender case that was with the guitar for years. I believe that the case might be the original case for that model Mosrite.
The MARK IIs and MARK Vs used that same type of case that the Fender (Mustangs, Duosonics, Musicmaster) had used, or at least something dead close to it............
