You don't even have to be a country fan to appreciate how good this is.

Re: Great country pickin'
Marty is a super-picker ... regardless that he looks like the offspring of Conway Twitty and Rod Stewart ...

Re: Great country pickin'
they sound great together. I don't understand why they didn't get another microphone though. Altoids, I reckon!

Oh, and they probably wanted to re-create that Paul and George vibe sharing the one microphone. Very rock'n'roll!

Re: Great country pickin'
Yes indeed. That's the real stuff. Marty keeps flying the flag for the Bakersfield sound, which is what turned me on to country in the first place. I was amazed to find, that when I got to Nashville in the mid-'70's, the powers-that-be looked down on this stuff--thought it was too rock 'n' roll, or something. Nowadays, when most of what comes out of Nashville sounds like bad '80's pop, they won't play Marty Stuart because they think he's too country. Not to mention George Jones, Merle Haggard, and all the other talented folks who are considered to be too old and too country for the "Young Country" format that took over country radio some years ago. Oh, well--there's always Willie's Place on Sirius/XM satellite radio! Back to that vid clip--that's Kenny Vaughn on second guitar, and he's no slouch either. Marty's got a killer band, and he features them a lot--check out his weekly show on the RFD-TV network.

Marty Stuart has been playing that guitar for as long as I have seen him. That goes back to his days with Johny Cash.

Re: Great country pickin'
Thanks for posting this clip....it was great! Although it's not my main love, I do appreciate good country music....and this is an example of it. I didn't know Marty could play like that!
I do love Vince Gill on lead guitar the most..he is unbelievable, and also guys like Brad Paisley, Steve Wariner and Keith Urban can also wail on lead......
So many of them use the Telecaster.......my first electric guitar was a home-made Tele copy..and I loved the maple neck on that thing.......
I've recently heard some Nokie Edwards country music.......that guy can play anything...
I love dual leads....sounds great!
Thanks again!
