zarfnober wrote:Ditto. As for the differences in the guitars, I have an original slab VenturesII and a Filmore Signature model. Guitars are very close, but definitely different: pickups, fretboard and especially the frets themselves. Haven't seen a Halmmark but, it looks and sounds right, much closer than the Filmore, for the early stuff. The fat strat made a hudge difference in Johnnys tone after he made the switch. Prefer the earlier tone.

Dont supose you could post some pics of your original slab mkii and your JR model together could you?

I've been meaning to do just that. I'll try one of these days.

Ya mon, goto page 23 of this thread for pics & page 24 for a short video.

As soon as I can, I'll post another video or 2. Probably start another thread since this one is getting a little long in the tooth. I was thinking of having my Hallmark, my Ramones model, and maybe even the Ranger there & play all off them back to back to give a feel of what they all sound like.

No disrespect to the Hallmark, but putting that up next to the V88 is kinda unfair. That thing is like butter.

I'm officially kicking myself a little for not pre-ordering at $825, just saying. Hmm, maybe I can get a discount as a returning customer....

The extra $74.00 won't kill ya. Maybe see if he'll take off a hundred if you get it w/ out the case.
