Duane was playing a reissue '57 6120. The sound was incredible.

Veenture, I look forward to meeting you at GGF 2011. ;)

Deke, go get some rest!!!

Mel, thanks for posting the pics. At least we get some inkling of an idea as to what went on there. Basically, like Dennis, I'm left speechless.

How about a report on your new Hallmark/Gruggett? Are the Bob-wound pickups hotter than the standards? Is the finish nitro or poly? Tell us about the electronics/PU wiring. Inquiring Hallmark owners want to know!

Thanks for posting all of the cool pictures and great write ups! What an awesome event that was. I am so bummed I could not go. My ride there unfortunately got cancelled. It is very frustrating to be 1 1/2 hours away and no method to get there. I even got stuck for the hotel room because of their cancellation policy. Salt in the open wound!

It looks like everyone who did attend had an amazing time and came aways with wonderful experiences and memories. Thank you all for sharing!

Hey all!
Here is Deke's Ramones tribute with Deke playing the Hallmark Road to Ruin model on Rock and Roll High School. I was only 4 feet from the Marshall stack so all you can hear is the guitar. My ears are still bleeding!! I will get some more vids and pix up soon. We just got back from NAMM and have a lot of stuff to go through. If you search Deke guitar geek festival 2010 on youtube you can find some more vids with a better balance of sound as they are in front of the PA. It was standing room only so I was lucky to get the spot I filmed this from. That Marshall was overloading my poor little camera but it worked!! Garrett Immel form the Gahstly ones is on bass, Sugarballs on drums, and Tom Kenney on vocals.

Congrats on a great show Deke!

That was insanely cool. Checked out the other videos too. Boy did he nail the early Ramones sound or what??!
Was he plugged into the marshall though? Just wondering, because it looks like the fender amp was running at the same time in one shot.
I know what my next guitar will be...! I smell a Hallmark custom job! (In say... A year, when I've got the money.)

Ha! I did announce in the mic that my name was "Fatso Ramone." ha ha!

It was actually way more challenging than i thought to nail that Johnny thing....it's all about the brutal intensity and stamina. Sure, down strokes and power chords are easy....for 30 seconds! Try doing it about 300 times a minute for 25 minutes!

I'm with ya, I meant you were doing OK; they should all be down strokes I believe ;)
