Recently I have been talking to a local (Dutch) luthier about building a lefthand Mosrite clone for me. I'd prefer a "Vibramute" or clone on there instead of the Bigsby like the luthier suggested. Short of buying a lefty Mo' and replacing the entire guitar (I don't hail from Absurdsville!) I haven't the faintest where to obtain such an item.
Any clues, suggestions or pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Re: lefty parts
Yeah, I've been in contact with Hallmark, Bob told me they can't afford to "tool up" for a lefty tailpiece.
So that's kind of a dead end for me. Appreciate it though.

Even the lefty guitar Semie built for Elliot Easton had a right-handed tailpiece...

Sure that adds to the cool-factor, it's just that I'm not at peace with that concept yet.
The MiJ Mosrites do have 'em, so there's gotta be someone out there building these things.
Doesn't have to say Mosrite on it, it won't on the headstock if this guitar gets built...
PM-ed Ed Elliot, waiting for him to answer.

Re: lefty parts
I don't think you're going to find a lefty Mosrite tailpiece unless you get it from Japan. If that's cost prohibit, I'd consider a Fender Mustang vibrato before a Bigsby; I think the range and feel is more similar, and you should be able to find lefty versions, or at least easily convert a righty to a lefty. You could even make a different sizes base plate without too much trouble to get the shape and geometry more like a Vibramute.

Re: lefty parts
well you could ask Zamm if he could get a lefty version. i think he's actively selling right handed version on ebay right now for 300. I'm sure a lefty version would be more.
I agree with the mustang tremolo too. I think all you would need to do is drill one hole on the opposite side of the vibrato bar for the whammy. I was sitting up a mustang the other day and thought it was very mosrite like. I know it's not the same but maybe worth checking out. you can get aftermarket mustang trems without the fender logo on them here.

Re: lefty parts
Thanks you guys, the luthier talked to Zamm, the reply was he didn't have or know of lefty tails... Mustang vibrato is an option! That would surely add to the coolfactor of the guitar (IMHO).

Re: lefty parts
Well, you are obviously familiar with Taniguchi Gakki. Did you try emailing them? They sell parts, you know. Or just go straight to Kurokumo...
