Ed Romans response to the lawsuit

Postby GTSP » Thu Sep 10, 2009 4:30 pm

I saw this in another forum & thought it would be great fodder for conversation: Full disclosure, I bought my Ranger from ER & it went ok. A little bump at first, but they corrected it.

"Message To You people from Ed Roman

I hope this will set the record straight !

I have been an official real Mosrite dealer in the USA for going on 10 years now. There were numerous others who could have been dealers but they were worthless and weak and couldn't ante up the opening order of 10 guitars. Over 40 dealers called and they all wanted dealerships but they all wanted to buy just one guitar in several rare cases they would have bought 2 guitars. WOW !!!

Sorry Charlie Mosrite/Fillmore was not interested in those types of dealers and I cannot say I blame them.

The line is not open to Guitar Center Or any of the chain stores because Mosrite dealers need to be able to do repairs in house and those types of stores rarely if ever can fix a broken string. Plus they destroy everything they touch, Who wants to buy a guitar that has been mauled by a bunch of lamebrained greasy handed 12 year olds and then sold as new ???

I cannot believe all this Hogwash I am have been reading on this forum... I generally never bother with these silly threads, Usually I have better things to do!

Several of my good customers contacted me and asked about this stupid lawsuit. So I am responding for their benefit and comfort.

If Loretta Mosely decides she wants to sue me,
which as of this writing I have not been sued by anyone !!!!
Fillmore has not been sued yet either according to them.
Be warned Loretta, you'll be moving into a smaller trailer if you try and sue me !!!!!
Fillmore and myself will use Ronald Bienstock as our attorney and he regularly beats Gibson & Fender over & over (He is definitely the #1 Lawyer in the music Biz, Check out his website and client list)

I have heard some rumblings about a filing but I am not going to do anything about it till I get served, I am insured for this type of BS anyway. Most people don't know it but your basic business policy protects you unless you are doing something patently illegal like counterfeiting. My insurance pays for my legal defense and If I should lose somehow, My insurance pays not me !!!

Mosrite sales have never been better, Mosrite Guitars HAVE NEVER BEEN BETTER. And there is a new very affordable American Made Mark 1 Model being introduced next month, I have over 50 Mosrites in stock in Las Vegas right now Johnny Ramone's To Ventures Models, Doublenecks, Vintage 63 Sidejack Ventures model in 98% condition, I even have a New Gospel.
The new American model is being built by Dana Mosely who is Semie's blood Daughter.

I guess Loretta is going to sue her stepdaughter ????

BTW according to Dana she quit school to go to work in her fathers factory and build guitars, rewind pickups and did so for the better part of 20 years.
Dana worked for me in 2007 & 2008 building guitars and today she works directly for Fillmore.
She told me she wanted to carry the torch for her father and continue making one of the finest guitars ever made. The new ones have real tight neck joints and better quality components throughout. They sound awesome and play better than they ever did. (I personally guarantee it)
Dana is doing an excellent job !!!!!!!!
I like to say no guitar collection is complete without a Mosrite.

Go the Mosrite Guitars Website and listen to the videos posted on there. The sound is extremely distinctive. Nothing else sound like a Mosrite, The closest thing I ever heard was maybe an Original British Burns guitar. The pickups are really great.

Loretta was Semie's 4th wife and I think some Japanese business men have filled her head with ideas about making a lot of money.
I certainly hope she doesn't ever get the company back and run it into the ground again like she did the last time.
She was at the helm when it crashed and burned the last time.

I am sorry if this post upsets anyone but facts are facts and I stand behind everything I say. I always have and I always will. Anyone who really knows me will attest to that.

Now you guys can write all the BS you want, You can accuse me of nailing Christ to the cross, I don't care, I am not going to get into any silly argument with anyone and I am not going to respond to this any more. I just don't have the time. So Bash Away, It just drives more people to my website!!

If anyone wants to buy a real Mosrite, I have them... So ask your wife if it's OK to buy one and then give me a call !!!!

Cheers
Ed Roman"

This is a public service announcement for those unacquainted with Mr. Roman. Please take everything this man says with a large grain of salt and decide for yourself. To illustrate, the vintage '63 he references is far from it (note the out of focus, upside down signature on the back of the headstock, obscuring the date).

WARNING!

While it is interesting to watch this drama unfold, don't allow your self to get into slamming Ed Roman or any other entity involved in this lawsuit. Ed's language is very succinct and his innuendo's are understood, but as the owner of this forum, please leave it at that. Do not go down the path of what you 'would like' to say.

I'm merely pointing out that a man who claims "Original owner for 45 years SUPER NICE!!" on an instrument that is 25 years old at the oldest either has a time machine or a liberal interpretation of truth. And I am speaking from personal experience.

Adam, I wasn't referring to you personally as I was apparently typing my response the same time you posted. I just know that there are those sitting on the fence waiting to jump in a tell their personal feelings about Ed Roman as I have seen on other forums. He does get a little cruder than I allow on this forum. I appreciate a good clean cut review of ones personal experience or even individual opinions as long as it doesn't get into a public flogging.

GTSP,

No problem, as I am sure Dana is sitting on the sideline waiting to see which way things goes as well. I have to say that I wouldn't lose any sleep over this law suit until such time as a ruling has been rendered telling the concerned parties which way things are going to go. Mean time........

First off, let's not get Ed Roman and his reputation confused with Fillmore and its reputation. Fillmore guitars are fine instruments, and I can say from playing one of Dana's guitars at Artie's place that it's up there with the best I've laid my hands on.

That said, note that the "63" sidejack has string-through tuners (as opposed to safety-posts) and double fret markers above the 12th fret, neither of which are features of a 1963 Mosrite last time I checked. Caveat emptor.

It's good to hear that Ed and his store handled GTSP's transaction properly.
