Mosrite Kluson tuners
I need a source for Mosrite Kluson or Kluson style 3X3 split shaft tuners. eBay has plenty of Kluson 3x3's but not with the split shaft as used on Mosrite and Fender guitars. They don't have to be Kluson brand just as long as they are decent tuners and look correct for the Mosrite. And no, I don't want to pay the $79 price tag that crops up periodically on eBay. I have one set coming from a seller on Amazon but those were $54. Any other Kluson Gibson style 3X3 can be had for $36. Surely there is a source for $40 tuners. If you know of any, let me know.

Just for reference, Semie himself used Gotoh tuners from about 1984 until the end, and often used the non-split shaft version. I know it's not vintage correct, but it is brand correct (and probably more economical).

Re: Mosrite Kluson tuners
Hey Danny, I will see you tomorrow, but just wanted to let you know that the new Kluson company (owned by WD Music Products) is selling the Mosrite style 3X3 tuners! They look great, too.
Here's the link: http://kluson.com/PRODUCTS.htm
Sounds like you might be too cheap to pay 50 bucks for a set of reissue tuners, but man they are correct looking and brand new....

Those tuners (3X3) are for the Gibsons, which means no split shaft....

make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Dub:
I know that I've mentioned this here before, but there is a guy in NJ on eBay that is selling oem Kluson TonePro tuners that are the correct 3x3 ones for Mosrites with the split posts for $22.
The TonePro tuners are the upgrade tuners, but when mounted they look like the standard double line Kluson from the sixties, no additional screws or ferrule nuts.
I checked and he still has them listed, I will double check the part number that he has in the ad, and if it's the same as the sets that I bought, I'll let you know. His current listing mentions Epiphone Casinos, so I want to be sure that he hasn't changed what he is selling.

Re: Mosrite Kluson tuners
Ok, I checked the two sets that I bought and they are both numbered the same as the sets that are shown in the listing. The boxes are marked FSG1129NK-4
The eBay item number is 370238787487.
These are Kluson branded Tone Pro tuners, 3x3 with chrome buttons and safe-t-posts (split posts). They are marked on the back of each tuner with the Kluson Deluxe, double line marking.
The only warning I have is that these are the Tone Pro tuners, so there is a sleeve on the body end of the posts that may or may not fit original vintage pegheads without modification.
But as I said before when mounted, these will look like the original vintage tuners that came on Mosrites in the sixties.

Re: Mosrite Kluson tuners
Thanks Bill,
Now that's a more realistic price even thought the shipping is ridiculous. I sent the seller a message inquiring whether or not they are split shaft.

Re: Mosrite Kluson tuners
Yeah the shipping/handling thing is typical of eBay, but $21 for a set of $70 gears still makes sense to me.
Both sets that I bought have the split shafts (Safe-T-Posts).
