greetings all...

Postby midwestsurfer » Wed Aug 12, 2009 8:01 pm

Hi, I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say how glad I am to have found this site! I'm primarily into surf/instrumental music and am a long-time Fender player, but recently have been draw to Mosrites (Mark I/Ventures models) because they are just so perfect for the styles of music that I play. I was hoping that the members of this forum could give me some advice as far as where I should go to purchase a Mosrite (or a worthy clone). I know that Ed Roman sells them, but I've heard a lot of mixed opinions about him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Nick

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to check with Artie at Front Porch Music. He's a member of the forum and has several in stock right now. Here's a link to a topic you might find interesting. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1037

Welcome, Surfer ... There are several options you'll find on the Forum, such as Artie's Front Porch Music (who has Mosrites assembled by Dana Moseley), Hallmark Guitars (Bob Shade just rolled out a 59 Custom - a beaut!), and others. Just look around - I'm sure you'll find something to satisfy the Mosrite crave. Enjoy!

Hey midwestsurfer, welcome.
Well, finding your right Fender is easier than finding the Mosrite of your choice so that will be a bit of a challenge. Mosrites are not to be found in your average guitar store but if I'm going hunting for one I'll find one on eBay or when visiting the USA, head straight for Artie's FRONT PORCH MUSIC store! Check out the threads here first, just take your time.

If you're in a hurry and the Mosrite fever is too high to bear, there's a superb substitute Mosrite by the name of Hallmark; everyone agrees it's the closest guitar to the Mosrite under 1 thousand dollars! http://hallmarkguitars.com/instruments/ ... custom.htm
You'll have one in a jiffy. Mine arrived within a week and I live in Europe...go figure.

Good luck, ...oh, and we dig surf music here too, you bet! :D

Welcome to the forum. Spend some time on the "Modern Mosrites" forum and you'll see there are a couple of flavors of Mosrites, plus the Hallmarks that will put you in the Mos-zone.

One thing about this forum when asking for Advise is that it will certainly challenge how much an individual can actually Retain in their Brain

Welcome and enjoy your stay :) I think the best "Modern Mo" You will find is Hallmark's 60 Custom. Sure, The ones Ed Roman sells have the Mosrite name on the headstock and they are made to the exact specifications of the 60s models but the companies that build them don't actually have much to do with Mosrite. Hallmark is more like a brother company to Mosrite and you can get in contact with Bob Shade easily if you have any questions. I think they'll take custom orders too :)

Welcome!

No matter what kind of Mosrite you are considering, you've come to the right place.
