Scale lengths of various Mosrite guitars?
Oddly enough, I couldn't find much information about the scale lengths of Mosrite guitars by searching the forum.
You left me with no choice, I had to create a new topic!

Post the scale length of any Mosrite guitars or basses and I'll edit the main topic to say how long they are.
Mark I
Mark II (Slab Body)
Mark V
Mark X (Bass)
Mark XII (12 String)
Etc.
All Electrics and Acoustics--24.5 inch scale
All Electric Basses---------30.25 inch scale
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

I thought I read somewhere that the scale length was longer than that, in the earlier years. That it wasn't until Semi bought a neck grooving machine from Standel ( or someone) that it was standardized to 24 3/4".
Or...maybe I dreamed it.

It was Ed who recounted how Semie bought and used surplus Standel equipment.

When Standel went out of business the Mosrite Scale lenth got shorter, it changed from 24.75 to 24.5. How did this happen?? Up to this point Mosrite had been cutting there fret slots one at a time on a radial-arm saw with a jig, something like you would buy from Stewart-McDonald's Guitar shop supply. Anyway, When Standel bellied-up Semie bought Standels Fret Saw Machine, It worked great! I used it a many of time, you could cut all 22 and the zero fret slot in one motion, Semie liked it so well he did'nt change a thing, not even the scale.
Like Uncle Semie use to say , Ed, that's close enough, "Run The Fire Out Of It!"
