Came in today. As noted in the intro section last week--this one appeared too clean to be original. But took her apart and the pot codes are 134 6806 and 134 6801. Centralab pots with 1968 codes as far as I can tell. The short hat knobs are metal with the V and T markings as well as M's on tops. Trannies are RCA 2N408 and RCA 2N2613.
I thought the germanium transistors (are these germanium?) would be warmer than the silicon I've heard, but this one is as nasty and snarly as can be! In time warp condition---hard to imagine how it survived in this shape. Most originals I've seen pics of are usually battered up pretty good.

Yes those transistors are germaniums. The design is such that the signal is basically square-waved, so the differences between germanium and silicon will not be as dramatic as in something like a Fuzz Face.
I'm surprised at the 1968 pot date, as I would have guessed the germaniums would have been phased out by then. Perhaps you have one of the last production runs of the germaniums.
