New member from Berea, OH
Hello all, I'm a new member that has only been playing a few years. I have bought and sold a number of guitars, but I just purchased my first Mosrite, a Joe Maphis double neck. I play mandolin and rhythm guitar in a band and I got tired of constantly switching between them. I thought a mandolin/guitar double neck would make my life easier. And I thought I wouldn't have any trouble finding one figuring they would be popular among country/bluegrass players. Not so; all I could find was cheap MIC tele/strat styles that sold for under $300.00. Then I ran across this Mosrite and after doing a bit of research on it, I bought it. If nothing else, it was one of the coolest guitars I had ever seen! I currently have it disassembled for cleaning and setup. I'll post pictures and what I have learned about it when I return home tomorrow. BTW, my avatar is a picture of the previous owner and his wife taken, I believe, in the mid-70's. Dave

Welcome Dave!
It's nice to see someone who will actually use a 6/mando double neck. Most guys don;t know what the heck to do with them!

Hi, Welcome. Sounds like a fine guitar you got, what year was it made? I've never taken one of these apart but my Ventures II does have a date stamped on the neck and a date stamped on the body, both where the neck meets the body.

-- Welcome to the forum! Can't wait to see pics of your doubleneck!
The gangster looks so frightening, with his luger in his hand
When he gets home to his children, he's a family man
But when it comes to the nitty-gritty, he can shove in his knife
Yes he really looks quite religious, he's been an outlaw all his life

Just curious, your name here is Swept 57. Do you by chance have a 1957 Dodge Swept-Wing?

Ha! You are on to me Bob. I have three 57 Coronets. One is a driver, one is under restoration, one is a parts car. All are base Coronets, V-8, manual trans.

Swept57...by all means, post pics of your Coronets! If I can ever sit down and try to figure out how to post pics again, I'll post one of my '56 Packard and maybe some of my ex-Edsels etc....
