Mossrite Celebrity II Clone?

I'm looking at a guitar locally that looks a lot like a Celebrity II, red in color, bolt on neck, but there are no markings on it anywhere other than 'Made in Japan' on the neck plate. The one thing that I did notice about the guitar that I'm looking at that is way different from pictures I have seen on the internet, is that there is no white plate behind/underneath the volume/tone buttons. I'm guessing that it is some type of clone, but I don't own or know much about the Mossrite guitars, not yet, anyway. Any help in identifying this guitar would be greatly appreciated. I do have a few pictures that I could send someone if they wanted to help, not sure exactly how to post them here.
