Hi,
I'm thinking of upgrading my MIM Stratocaster (i.e. ol' faithful). I'll probably replace all the electronics, as they're getting a bit unreliable, and I've always fancied some decent pick-ups in her.
Now the catch is that I have no experience with electronics or anything, and also I'm stubborn and don't want to get a luthier to install all the stuff (that's partly because there are no good ones nearby!). How difficult would it be for a novice, such as I, to install all the electronics properly? I have a soldering iron, would I need anything else other than my dogged, British determination? (sorry I couldn't help that last bit)
Thanks,
Max
p.s. I don't want to electrocute myself if possible

Re: Wiring up a pickguard
It's a very simple process plus there is no voltage in the guitar circuitry only continuity. So, get all your parts in order, refer to a good diagram, heat up your soldering gun and get'er done. Here's an online method
