Welcome Bruce. I'm just wondering if we'll be able to see pictures of your brother's prototype Celebrity:

I was contacted by a gentleman via my website who says he owns a Celebrity prototype that he got directly from Semie many years ago. Evidently Semie was visiting someone named Ronnie Bruce in Lake Village Arkansas. Semie gave him a prototype Celebrity with some very different features than mine has. It has three little toggle switches to control the pickups and some other cool features. The guitar did not have a serial number and when the guy asked Semie about that, Semie asked him when his birthdate was. Semie then stamped the guys birthdate into the fretboard where the serial number would go. It is 62948. This man eventually had the guitar restored by an employee of Gruhn Guitars.

The guitar originally had black skirted knobs with a chrome crown. Sometime later in the 1970's Gene Moles sent him some Mosrite knobs and some humbucker pickups. They were evidently potted by someone named "Bondo Bob" at Mosrite. Another difference is that his has a bone string guide instead of the metal ones we usually see.

Assuming this all pans out correctly that will mean we have located two of the four original prototypes. He is sending me photographs and I will share them as soon as I have them.
