Pulling the Hallmark Trigger

Postby huffman83 » Wed Apr 13, 2011 3:59 pm

It will be mine.....oh yes.

It will be mine!

The guitar, not the girl.

But fwiw...the girl?

I would.

Unfortunately I have to wait until May for when Bob gets a new shipment in on the 60's. Till then...I'm just going to die inside a little every day til it shows up.

I too will be pulling the hallmark trigger.

I've got a 1968 Joe Maphis model that was in desperate need of some TLC. I ended up taking it to him to get fixed up a couple months ago after reading some forum posts here about his work.

His repairs were fantastic, it's like playing a new guitar. When I stopped by to pick it up he also let me play a custom 60 that had a great feel! After going through the hallmark website I was totally wowed by his take on the Gospel. I'm going to put in a pre-order for the next run as a little birthday gift to myself (Apr 23rd). Super psyched. I can hardly wait!

Yup! That I am.

It's the color that was most "me."

:sigh:

It's looking like another month till I can get the beast. So I'm kind of dying a bit inside!

huffman83, you have my complete sympathy. I hate the waiting.
It only took three days for my sunburst to get here, but I was checking the FedEx tracking sheet every half hour. In fact, that was what I was doing when the truck pulled into the driveway.
Just look at it in the most positive light. You get to have Christmas in May. Merry Christmas!!!
Keep your fingers loose in the meantime.
Don

ps: when I went out to greet the delivery guy, I told him that I had been waiting 45 years for this guitar. He sort of shook his head and said that they were usually faster than that.

I love my Custom 60.

Funk to hard rock it's really a superb axe.

Bob Shade is so good to deal with.

See...you're just making this worse!!!!I want it NAO!!! Bob's been great as far as responding quickly to me. I keep checking my email during the weekdays to see if the guitar has been shipped yet which is kind of pathetic, I know!

I am curious as to what all I can throw at it amp/style wise though.

One thing that's helped is getting a new toy recently in trading a Gretsch Electromatic hollowbody for a Dillion LP Goldtop copy w/ P-90's. It's like buttah!
