Hallmark Buying Question

Postby somethingclever » Mon Nov 29, 2010 1:25 pm

Hey Y'all,

New to the forum and I had a quick question.
I have been thinking about buying a Hallmark Sheena for a little while now. Based on the reviews some of you guys having been giving, it seems like a great guitar for the price.
Two questions: Has anyone ever got one in something other then blue or white? And is the only way to get one through Hallmark directly or can someone recommend a good store (online or otherwise) to check them out at?

Thanks for the help,
Jordan

Hallmark guitars are only ordered directly from Bob Shade of Hallmark Guitars, at least, they're not marketed through any store, as far as I know. I can't vouch for a Sheena model (I have a 60 Custom myself) but from what I've gathered so far, Hallmark sells excellent quality products at a very fair price. We've seen 'em on ebay sporadically but never a Sheena yet, I think :|

Centuar Guitars in Portland, OR had 3 Hallmarks in stock recently: the 60s Custom, Batwing, and Stradette. The Custom sold, unfortunately, as I was enjoying getting to know it. I don't think there are plans to carry these regularly, but I know the owner can order Hallmarks and sell them to you for the same price as through Hallmark. I have been debating as to whether there is any advantage to going this route, or whether it makes more sense to go strait through Bob.

I purchased my 60's Custom direct from Hallmark and Bob Shade does ship fast and is easy to get along with. Any questions you may have he will answer them. When I got mine it came right out of the box ready to play, no adjustments were necessary. The only change I made was to switch from the GHS 10-46 strings to Curt Mangan 10-52. I think the Sheena comes in only the two colors but if you want something differnt I pretty sure Bob can do a custom color for an upcharge.

Hey guys!

Yes we are always happy to do a custom paint job on any guitar we offer. Prices start around $350.00. Just inquire at any time and we can quote a price depending on what the job entails.

Thanks for all the help guys. When I posted this, I didn't realize Bob was a member here. Just goes to show what a great forum this is.
Now I'm saving up for a custom color!

Good, then that would make two bands in the Philly area that has a guitar player that plays a Hallmark. 8-)
