Hi ! One more !

Postby Fredomusicman » Mon Apr 26, 2010 3:42 am

Hello,

My name is Fred and I'm from France. Bass Player since 25 years.

While a concert where we played with several Bands, one Bass player got a real Mosrite bass.
I was amazed by this specific sound ! He wouldn't sell it of course
Than I looked to find one, and at first I fought buy a copy, but now I don't think so: a real or nothing :geek:
Last Month I went to The Musikmesse in Frankfurt Germany. There I saw Dana Moseley, Jiro okabe anc CJ Ramone :ugeek: We told about the new ones and prices. I think I had to make some Money on side before  ;)

So now I'm here to hear from real experts and fans about Mosrite ;)

Fred

PS: please don't be worry for my english...

Welcome, Fred. There are two Mosrite dealers in America but they're both on the west coast, One is in Bakersfield (Front Porch Music) and the other in Las Vegas (Ed Roman's) I think your best bet is eBay though so long as you know the going prices for the basses. Which bass are you interested in? There's a lot of models. There's the Ventures bass (Also known as the Mark X) Which there are variations of. Then there's Celebrity Basses, Joe Maphis Basses and 350 Basses. I may have missed a few models.

1966 Ventures II (German Carved, B670.)
1970s "Not a Blues Bender" Bodies: 2.
1976 Brass Rail Deluxe #10.
2013 Fender Pawn Shop Bass VI.

Fredo,

Welcome to the forum! If you're going to New York City, the big music stores are on 48th street. Some carry vintage gear so you've got a chance of finding a Mosrite bass there. Also check craigslist.org, who knows you might find someone selling one while you're in town.

Good luck,

Fred, if you are very lucky you might keep an eye on Craigslist and eBay for the bass that you want and if you can buy it have it shipped to where you will be staying in New York and save the shipping costs of sending to your country.

Also, have a look at G Base. There are some Mosrite basses for sale there and if you strike a deal they can also ship to the location you will be in New York.
