Re: New Guy
Hello and welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you may have a valuable guitar. Please don't refinish or modify until you thoroughly examine all possibilities. Regardless of how banged up it may be, if it is a '63 it will probably be more valuable in it's original as is state, '65 and later model are a different story. One of us on the forum (me) may be inclined to swap you for a later model in fine playing condition. Naturally photo's will be the best way to get assistance. Either way you go, I hope you enjoy the forum and get the help you need.

Hi, Welcome to the forum. We'll be able to date your guitar if you post some pictures of it. The most notable things on 1963 models (That I know of) Are a set neck, the output jack being on the side and a burst headstock.

Re: New Guy
Welcome okieblur. Wow, a '63 ...and low serial number; you don't often hear someone owning a '63. I'd think about dubtrub's inclination...the '63 would be in good hands with him

Welcome, Blair.
Don't let Danny talk you into a sucker trade.
A '63 could be worth big bucks.
Actually, I think the MOST notable feature of a '63 would be binding on the body, Austin.

Strips of laminated plastic inlaid in a channel around the perimeter of the body.

Burst = Sunburst. Here's a link to a picture of a sunburst Mosrite headstock.
