I have been talking to Curtis and he feels that he has everything I need to build a Mosrite. He sent me some pict's and they look good and we are now talking price and all looks like it will be a go.

Re: Project Mosrite in the works
Congrats Jim. I'm reaching the tail end of my project and it's been both rewarding process and it's turning out to be a cool guitar. So, what model will you be making? Pics! Pics!

Re: Project Mosrite in the works
With any luck and hard work it will be a Mark1 in tri burst color. I have what Curtis sent me but I don't have a way to post it right now. It has a blue color on it and he said the neck is fitted to that body with a serial # on it of 112. He has pickups and everything.

Re: Project Mosrite in the works
Jim, is this blue guitar the one you are getting? I like that blue color, but S/B is one of my favorites. That vibrato plate has an orange hue to it so I'm guessing it is brass and not aluminum. Brass will have to be polished then chrome plated. No big deal, just and additional cost to keep in mind.

Re: Project Mosrite in the works
I'm a big fan of tri-burst, but that's a pretty great blue, so you can't go wrong either way. Does the neck already have binding installed?
Looks like it's going to be a great project!

Re: Project Mosrite in the works
Yes that is what I am getting, and the neck is bound. I was told it was the mate for that body and it has a serial number stamped in the fretboard. Time will tell. I forgot to mention that the vibramute is cast in brass and I am looking for a local to do the chrome plating now.

Re: Project Mosrite in the works
Just thought I would say that everything is ordered and I can't wait to get the parts. I am told that I will be getting everything I need except what will be needed to paint it all. I have been checking chrome plating shops in my area and I also came across a web sight that has do-it-yourself chroming kits that look like a way to go. I also must say that Curtis is a great person to talk with and I hate to see what my phone bill will be this month. LOL I don't have a digital camera but I will take pictures of everything as I go and post them as quick as I can.

Re: Project Mosrite in the works
Parts are here!!!!! With any luck I can start work this weekend. Everything looks good but needs some wood work. That finish was put on long before the body was ready for it. I will try to get some pics of as I go along.
I forgot to mention that there are no holes drilled for the neck in the body so I am toying with the idea of making a set neck.

Re: Project Mosrite in the works
That's great Jim. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about it coming to life. Keep us informed.
JFYI, I seem to play my clone with the Hallmark pup's more than the Mosrite's, I'm afraid to admit it, but I almost prefer the more mellow P-90 sound for the style of music I play.
