Hello I am new to this site and to this guitar. I have been playing off and on for years But have just recently began to collect guitars instead of selling them like I use to . I was doing some research on these guitars as I happened across one the other day. I quickly pulled out my Vintage buyers guide only to find out that this is by far one of the most convoluted and intriguing stories about guitars. I was buying a vintage Fender Strat the other day and the gentleman i was buying it from said hey "look at this " He pulled out a gorgeous Mosrite Avenger which i quickly grabbed and played .It reminded me of My mustang. He was selling it for 1000 Said he bought it back in 2000 for around 1200. He said it was made in Japan but was not a Fishman and believed it to be from the 80's. I have serial number FM0165 but to date i can not find any info on it. Anyway he e mailed me and offered it to me at 750 I will say the guitar is gorgeous and dead mint So I think Im going to buy it it certainly is worth that for sure i would think and I loved it besides Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

Welcome. The Avenger was made in Japan by Firstman (not "Fishman"), hence the FM in the serial number. Use the search function at the top of the page and your Firstman questions will no doubt be answered. Enjoy your stay.

I wouldn't know how many Firstman Mosrites there are out there, but you don't come accross one that often; they are a piece of Mosrite history too
