I'm missing one of the bridge acorn nuts on my MIJ Ventures Mosrite. Where would be the best place to find a replacement? My local hardware store did not have the right size acorn nut, but I haven't checked all the stores yet. The hardware on my Mosrite are kind of a brass color so ideally I'd want to locate an acorn nut in the same color, but I could live with a plain steel version. By the way, can someone tell me what size acorn nut I should be looking for? Right now I'm just eye-balling it. Thanks for any info!

Re: Acorn Nut
Hi Byron, it's a #6-32 acorn nut and I have five sitting here in my house. They will fit an original bridge but look bigger than the originals. If you need one let me know and I'll give you one. Kevin

Kev, hold on Brother,
Byron said it was MIJ, which I believe are Metric Size, and are NOT interchangeable with
the Original Bridge (I'm assuming you mean American) which is Standard Size.........
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Thanks for the replies and thanks Kev for the offer, but it is MIJ(don't know what make exactly). I'll see what Danny has to say.

You might be able to get a few from Bob Shade or you can get them from McMaster-Carr hardware supply in metric sizes. -T

Re: Acorn Nut
I've got 6 acorn nuts that I was going to use but after I bought them on Ebay and got them in the post I discovered they were for a smaller fine thread size. Not sure if these were either the later american standard or in fact from a MIJ model. Have you got any close up pictures of yours so I can compare, I'll try and dig out the pictures I have of mine later...

Re: Acorn Nut
Jason, in the "Modern Mosrites and Clones" thread(bottom of page 2), there is a post titled "pictures of my MIJ Mosrite". One of the pictures is a close up of the bridge, but it's from the bottom of the bridge so I don't know if you can tell much from it. I will check our Home Depot here. If you or anybody can tell what size it is, that would be great. Then I can check Home Depot. Thanks guys!
