I'm running 3 volume controls and 2 concentric knobs for the mid and bass/treble controls on the BQC circuit. The nice thing about EMG pickups is you don't have to ground the bridge.

Getting into the more detailed finishing stages. The routing is done on the body and I'm doing finish sanding before priming. Started putting finish on the neck. The birdseye looks really nice under varnish.

One major step almost completed. I used one of the Duplicolor paint shop colors on the body. It's much darker in artificial light but I wanted to try to get some pics of the metallic in the paint. I'll give it a week to cure and then wet sand and polish.

So rewarding for me to see a body I built being transformed into something awesome. Great job Rick. Witch duplicolor paint shop did you use? Was it rattle can or the 1/2 gallon cans?

I used the quart cans that you can buy at Advance Auto. I remembered seeing a blue that looked similar to the original blue. The color is darker inside and there is almost a little purple in the color. I have a compressor so I bought a paint gun set at Lowe's and did the spraying in my garage. I was afraid the metallic would come out streaky due to my lack of experience with the new gun, but the instructions say to spray a mist coat ~14" away while the last coat is wet to lay down more metallic particles. It came out nice and even. I used 4 coats of color and 6 coats of clear - that used up ~3/4 of each can. I used the Duplicolor primer as a base coat and sealer.

The top and back of the body are finished sanding. I should have the sides an curves done in a couple of days and I'll post more pics of the body in artificial light.

Nice job! That color will really pop with the birdseye maple fretboard!

Almost finished. My son is cutting some aluminum for the bridge cover and after that is finished I can make the pickguard. I already have the white pearloid blank. Going to try it out with the band this week.
